Functional Medicine in Castle Rock, CO
A Personalized Approach to Whole-Person Wellness
At Infinite Wellness, we recognize that every person brings a different health history, lifestyle, set of concerns and wellness goals. Our functional medicine approach in Castle Rock, Colorado focuses on understanding the individual and looking at the broader factors that may influence overall well-being.
Rather than focusing exclusively on individual symptoms, a functional approach considers areas such as nutrition, lifestyle, sleep, stress, health history and other factors that may be relevant to the person.
Infinite Wellness provides personalized wellness services designed to help patients better understand their health and explore options based on their individual needs.
Our Castle Rock clinic welcomes patients from Parker, Lone Tree, Elizabeth and surrounding Colorado communities.
What Is Functional Medicine?
Functional medicine is a patient-centered approach that looks at the individual as a whole rather than considering each health concern in isolation.
Because different systems within the body interact with one another, a person’s overall health history, nutrition, lifestyle and environment can provide useful context when discussing wellness concerns.
This does not mean that every symptom has one underlying cause or that conventional medical care is unnecessary. Instead, a functional approach can provide another way to organize information about the individual’s health and determine which areas may deserve additional attention.
At Infinite Wellness, the goal is to understand the person behind the symptoms and develop a more individualized approach to wellness.
Looking Beyond Individual Symptoms
People often seek wellness support because they are dealing with more than one concern at the same time.
For example, changes in digestion may occur alongside changes in energy or sleep. Someone experiencing ongoing stress may also notice changes in eating habits or everyday wellness.
These connections do not necessarily mean that one issue is causing another.
A broader assessment simply allows multiple aspects of a person’s health and lifestyle to be considered together rather than automatically addressing each concern in isolation.
At Infinite Wellness, we begin by learning about your health history, current concerns, lifestyle and goals.
Nutrition and Digestive Wellness
Nutrition can be an important part of a functional wellness approach.
Eating habits, food choices and nutrient intake can influence general health, while digestive concerns may affect how comfortable someone feels from day to day.
Infinite Wellness offers personalized nutritional guidance for patients interested in reviewing their eating habits and developing practical dietary strategies.
Patients experiencing digestive concerns can also learn more about our digestive wellness services, while individuals interested in exploring possible food-related patterns can review our food sensitivity testing services.
Energy, Sleep and Stress
Energy, sleep and stress can all be important pieces of an individual’s overall wellness picture.
Persistent fatigue can have many possible contributing factors, while sleep difficulties can affect how rested and focused a person feels during the day.
Stress can also influence everyday routines, including sleep, activity and eating habits.
Rather than assuming these concerns have a single explanation, an individualized approach considers them within the person’s broader health history.
Patients interested in these areas can learn more about our complementary support for chronic fatigue as well as our stress, anxiety and sleep wellness services.
Hormones and Whole-Person Wellness
Hormonal changes can be another consideration depending on a person’s age, health history and symptoms.
Changes in energy, sleep and other aspects of wellness do not automatically indicate a hormonal issue. Similar symptoms can have many potential explanations, which is why individualized evaluation is important.
For patients interested in learning more about hormonal wellness, Infinite Wellness offers a dedicated service focused on bioidentical hormone therapy and individualized hormone care.
Complementary Services at Infinite Wellness
A functional approach does not mean that every patient needs the same services.
Infinite Wellness offers a variety of complementary wellness options that can be considered according to the individual’s needs, preferences and goals.
Services available through our Castle Rock practice include acupuncture, applied kinesiology, biofeedback therapy, cold laser therapy, Chinese herbology and nutritional guidance.
Some individuals may be interested in one specific service, while others may want to discuss how multiple aspects of their wellness fit together.
What to Expect From Your First Visit

“Before coming to Infinite Wellness I had no experience with Traditional Chinese Medicine and holistic treatments. I was very skeptical that Infinite Wellness could offer real solutions to my long-standing and debilitating gut problems. However, I had had a great deal of experience looking into the puzzled and skeptical faces of MDs who saw no connections between the various symptoms I described to them. Specialist after specialist prescribed drugs to treat parts of the problem—drugs for painful gut spasms, drugs for allergy symptoms, drugs for skin rashes, anti-depressants for mood swings, drugs for nausea and hyper-acidity, tranquilizers for stress… The list was unending, and so was the illness. My energy and productivity plummeted. I teach and write books for a living, but I had not written a word in over a year. By the summer of 2010 I knew I was very ill.
I came to Infinite Wellness looking for acupuncture—admittedly grasping for straws with little understanding of the mechanisms behind the treatment. In our first meeting Sabrina Maiden made clear that what I needed was an integrated treatment that placed diet modification, lifestyle changes, homeopathic remedies, and just as importantly, a new understanding of the systemic interactions between mind, gut, and body, at the center of the enterprise. To my astonishment she not only understood my symptoms, she anticipated them and explained their interconnections to me. It was the first time in over five years of dealing with my disease that I found myself speaking to a health care practitioner who understood the entire package of afflictions besieging my body. In one session a world was revealed in which the causal connections between afflictions of the gut, the immune system, and the brain were visible and accessible. I finally understood why, how, and in what interconnected ways I was ill. I also saw the keys to unlocking the doors to restored health.
In the last six months I have seen my strength return, my mental focus sharpened, and my appetite back to normal. I can exercise again, and I eat without the old debilitating inflammations and exhaustions. My work productivity has returned. I have learned that the cure to my problem comes not in a hasty handful of prescriptions, but in a patient, integrated, and learned strategy of treatment that works with the body as it heals itself naturally. It has been an empowering experience, and the start of a life-long education about the interconnections between body, mind, and health.”
“Sabrina has helped me in so many ways, it’s hard to summarize them in a few paragraphs. Due to a head injury 30+ years ago, I’ve had severe ear and neck pain everyday for years. Nothing helped the pain. Numerous trips to specialists who told me there was nothing wrong was very discouraging. A friend recommended Sabrina. After my first acupuncture treatment, the pain was gone. This was the first time in 30+ years I didn’t have the severe pain I lived with every day.”
“Sabrina does so much more than just acupuncture. I have acid reflux and was taking Prevacid. She prepared herbs customized for my needs. After a few months of herbs, I was able to wean myself off the Prevacid and today continue to control my acid reflux with her special blend of herbs. She also helps control my hot flashes and other systemic problems I have.”
“In March, I had a viral infection in my intestines. I was still weak after 6 weeks. I’d never been this sick before and was wondering if I was ever going to feel well again. I’d recently found out I had pleurisy as well. Sabrina did some Bio-testing and found that I had a viral infection in my lungs. She prescribed homeopathic medicines to help me. After a few days, I felt much better than I had in the last 6 weeks. I continue to stay well with all the different alternative healing Sabrina provides.”
“I went on a week-long camping trip and after returning home I began to have uncontrollably bad diarrhea and cramping. It was difficult for me to go anywhere that I could not reach a bathroom immediately when I needed to. I found myself unable to hike, bike, or even have a normal work day. I saw my regular physician who sent me to a specialist. After finding nothing my doctors tried 3 or 4 different medications to try and get this under control. Nothing worked. Since they were not able to diagnose the problem and the medications did not work, they suggested an invasive surgery as some sort of “shot in the dark.” A friend of mine in Colorado that had similar problems and had gotten help asked me to call Sabrina. I flew in to see my friend and visit Sabrina and I left Colorado with a full bag of things to take and a few lifestyle changes. Within 2 weeks my diarrhea had stopped and within 5 weeks I could actually begin hiking and biking again. I don’t know what would have happened if I had not been treated by Sabrina and had continued on with surgery and drugs. Sabrina has the ability to pinpoint and treat things that cannot be tested by normal means of medicine.”
“My name is Doug and I am 45 years old. After going to many doctors for my heartburn and taking many different medications, I became frustrated with Western Medicine. Then I met Sabrina and she put me on a gentle but very effective natural medicine. After feeling better for the first time in years, I tried other suggestions she had, and now I feel the healthiest I’ve ever felt. Thank you Sabrina!!!”
